Design + Build… What is it?
FOXCRAFT Design Group is a design/build company. This concept combines innovative design, budget management and technical construction expertise under one roof. Using the design/build process, we offer creative design solutions that fit your budgetary goals so that the final project is the best combination of your practical needs and the design and construction experience of FOXCRAFT.
First Meeting
Good communication is one of our greatest strengths at FOXCRAFT and a great source of satisfaction for our clients. We are there to ensure that you are confident in the decisions you make; and no question is too small. At the initial meeting, we walk through your home, discuss your needs and begin to help you visualize your new space. We talk about budget up front, so you can know realistically what your ideas may cost and we can offer suggestions on how you can stay within your budget.
Initial Design and Budget
We will measure your existing space and evaluate structural and mechanical conditions. Our design team will lay out the spaces using sketches or our design software. Then the creative part begins: we develop design concepts, present our designs at the next meeting, and incorporate your input into the next set of drawings. Meanwhile, our production department also develops an initial proposal and budgets. We will help you establish your priorities and make choices in the design as it affects the budget. With an initial design and budget approved, we move on to finalizing the plans.
Final Design and Budget
All outstanding decisions are made and incorporated in the final design and budget. Our designers will work with you every step of the way to select fixtures, furnishings, cabinets, paint colors, appliances, tile, flooring, and specialty items. Our trade subcontractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.) will walk through the project and provide their final estimates for the costs. We will review and sign a construction contract, including specifications and pricing, to begin construction.
Construction Phase
Our in-field production team will manage all the details of building your project. At a pre-construction conference, with specifications and plans in hand, we will review the project with you room by room. Depending on the size of the project, you will be assigned a production manager and/or lead carpenter who will be on-site and available to answer any questions. Our production team includes our own highly skilled carpentry crews and craft trades (plumbing, electric, flooring, painting, etc.), most of whom have worked with us for years.
Project Completion
Production will walk through the project with you and develop a “punch list” of items to be completed. After we have completed these punch list items to your satisfaction, your warranty period begins. You can now enjoy and take pride in your new space!
