The existing layout of this grand 1980s townhouse was formal.  In the living room and dining room, that worked nicely, but our clients confessed that it made the kitchen and family room unwelcoming.  To solve the problem, FOXCRAFT combined the two rooms into one open area.  There was now sufficient space to add a large island, comfortable for three people, that creates a light and airy feeling.  The combination of light and dark cabinets gives the room a modern feel.
